Agency delegation visits company
A team comprising of professionals from different directorates of the Agency paid a working visit to the private pharmaceuticals manufacturer Human Well Ethiopia Plc. on February 17, 2019.
The delegation led by Forecasting and Market Research Director, AbiyKiflom, deliberated on the company’s activities with its officials.
The director explained that the main reason for the visit is that the company has been supplying the Agency with only one kind of pharmaceutical (Cimetidine) despite being contracted to supply 25 lifesaving pharmaceuticals under 6 purchase orders worth 105 million birr.
Abiy pointed out that the visit meant to help the new company take corrective measures that would contribute to the Agency’s efforts to carry out its responsibilities despite the problems associated with being Novus.
The Agency’s team also noted that the visit has enabled them understand the problems behind the company’s failure to deliver and its level of improved readiness to going forth. The team also identified the need to follow up and support the company’s efforts.
The Agency provides 25% price protection for local manufacturers and 30% down payment for those that perform better.
