Remedies given to problems of pharmaceuticals quality
The Pharmaceuticals Supply Agency is implementing complaints reception and remedial procedures to address problems associated with the quality of pharmaceuticals, stated the Agency’s Quality Control and Monitoring Coordinator, Tadesse Ayele.
In an interview with the Agency’s PR team, the coordinator noted that three ways have been designed to receive pharmaceuticals quality related problems from customers.
He further explained that the 8772 toll free line, the form on the Agency’s website and letters from branch offices bearing complaints by customers are the three methods of receiving complaints on the quality of pharmaceuticals.
To determine whether the specified pharmaceutical on the complaint really has the attributed problems, the coordinator stated that physical inspection is the primary method of investigation to be followed by a more rigorous inspection by the Ethiopian Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority upon a letter request from the Agency.
Really we appreciated the Agency start for quality assessments of the pharmaceuticals supplied to the Agency, however since the Agency has no complete setup for QC, it is advisable to have more methods like Lab analysis besides FMHACA inspections for the Complaints raised.
