Agency distributes Polio vaccines worth more than 20 million birr
EPSA has distributed more than 20 million birr worth of Polio vaccines throughout the budget year, revealed Vaccine Program distribution officer, Nadia Siraj.
The officer explained that Polio is a contagious disease caused by a virus bearing the same name that attacks the brain and spinal cord to lead to paralysis.
She went on to state that the preventive measure against Polio is vaccinating children timely and that the Agency imports vaccines for children all over the country.
The officer remarked that about 379,000 ten-doze vaccines have been distributed to health facilities across the country in the past three months.
She further noted that a Polio vaccination campaign for children of under five years of age would be conducted across the country in November.
The Agency regularly distributes vaccines to health facilities every three months.
