Italian and British MPs visit Adama Branch

Italian and British members of Parliament visited EPSA’s Adama branch on May 07, 2019 and March 18, 2019 respectively.
The Italian MPs visited Welenchiti health station in addition to Adama branch. They were briefed on the services EPSA and its branches render along with the kind of support they need.
In his media briefing following the visit, Adama Branch Manager, Solomon Negussie indicated that they discussed about ongoing projects and storage and distribution administration.
The Branch Manager also pointed out that reverse logistics was another area of their discussion with human resource development to operate on the incinerators a key part of their deliberation.
The Manager also revealed that he called for their support in bridging down the capital problem evident in delivering vaccines directly to health stations as per the goal set in the health policy.
Italian MP, Meana Ciara, disclosed that the visit has helped her understand how the country’s health system operates. She lauded the numerous huge completed undertakings and those that are in progress.
Meana expressed her delight at the things she learned during her visit and picked the system of making Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS drugs available for praise. She went on to state that the Italian government would support the system of making these drugs available.
Meana also noted that the aim of the visit is to check on the usage of Italian governmental assistance in the sector.
The MPs were briefed about the branch, visited the cold room and the main warehouse during the visit.
Similarly, the British MPs who visited Adama branch were briefed on the state of pharmaceuticals supply chain administration in Ethiopia, efforts to modernize and make the service efficient and the achievements gained so far.
Their visit was said to be the assessment of the administrative system of essential pharmaceuticals and vaccines in Ethiopia, and the impact assessment of global fund and GAVI assistance.
Bambos Charalamabous, Finance and Law Committee member of the UK Parliament, congratulated the Agency on its achievements in improving its infrastructure and called for strengthened efforts to push further.
He also remarked that he would do his part towards giving this impressive achievement in improving infrastructure the recognition it deserves among the international community.
Adama Branch Manager, Solomon Negussie, briefed the MPs on the various aspects of the center of excellence.
