Since the Agency’s establishment in 2008, a lot of variables in the pharmaceutical value chain have changed. The demand for pharmaceuticals has grown exponentially. To keep up with the rapid change, the Agency needed to make major changes in its activities. Accordingly, it has set out to replace old work procedures with new ones. The reform and good governance affairs directorate leads activities towards institutional change and strives to ensure its sustainability. Towards that end, it designs programs for change, conducts research, follows up their implementation and tracks their benefits. It also identified best practices from abroad and within the country and suits them to our situation before it mainstreams them.
The directorate works to realize respect for group and individual rights recognized by the constitution and implement good governance packages and plans in the Agency. It coordinates and supports good governance activities. It monitors whether the Agency has provided timely response to complaints by internal and external actors. It also conducts research on the causes of complaints, points out remedial actions and supports and monitors their implementation.
