Quality, one of the four transformation agendas, is the core goal of the health sector transformation plan. EPSA, as an agency mandated to procure, store and distribute health care products to the larger public, established a QC & A directorate which is responsible to ensure the health care products distributed through its channels fulfil quality standards by performing QC tests and assuring implementation of standard SCM operations. The Directorate’s overall activity can be divided into two: product quality control and process quality assurance. As one of the newly established directorates, the following roles and responsibilities are expected to be carried out by the directorate:
Roles and Responsibilities of the Directorate;
• Develop and maintain quality manual (Policy, objectives, SOPs, …)
• Conduct process audit as per agreed standards (SOPs)
• Physical inspection of incoming shipments
• Perform batch by batch quality control tests for selected products by taking samples
• Coordinate Product recall and disposal of products with quality defect
• Work towards compliance to ISO requirements
